Saint-Gobain PPL Process system is a key player on the market of tubing, stoppers, rings as well as other elastomer and thermoplastic products qualified for food & beverage markets.

Tygon®, Versilic®, Versitec® and Covisil® trademarks are referenced in those applications. Our R&D teams based in the USA and Europe are developing new formulations which comply with the  technical and regulatory requirements of this market.

Products developed for the US market or for countries recognizing these standards meet the Food criteria “FDA 177.2600” and “3A Sanitary Standards” as well as “NSF  Standard 51”.

To meet the new European directive, Saint-Gobain PPL has developed a range of flexible high performance tubing that meet the last European directives in force since July 2008 which regulates raw materials to be used with plastics in food contact, particularly phtalates (Directive 2007/19/CE)

In the range of silicone tubing, SGPPL has developed a specific range for food contact, especially the Versitec® platinum tubing that does not release any corrupted products. The vulcanization system produces tubing with outstanding chemical neutrality and taste free, which was confirmed by organoleptic tests carried out by an outside independent laboratory.
